In 2024 James Spillane is once again pleased to be running to serve as your New Hampshire State Representative from Deerfield, Candia, and Auburn. (Rockingham District 2)
James lives in Deerfield. He is the divorced father of three children, his youngest is still in the NH school system and his oldest graduated from UNH with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a BA in English from SNHU, and works for Evident Scientific as a Senior Technical Writer.
He has previously served the taxpayers of Deerfield for on the Municipal Budget Committee, serving as both Chairman and Vice-Chairman. He has completed 5 terms as a State Representative, and this last term was honored to serve as the Chair of the Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee. In that time he has consistently fought to lower taxes and impose common-sense spending cuts, while preserving the essential services upon which we depend.
James is a life-long hunter, a competitive archer, a beekeeper, and recently completed hiking all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000 foot mountain peaks. He is committed to preserving and strengthening our 2nd Amendment Rights in New Hampshire, preserving the great American tradition of hunting, and ensuring that the game animals and their environment remain healthy so that every future generation can enjoy hunting New Hampshire.
With three children having gone through the school systems in New Hampshire, James has deep concerns about the quality of education, and objects strongly to intrusive federal mandates. Decisions made locally are simply decisions that are better made! A quality education must include local control and parental choice. Every child deserved the opportunity of an education that is best suited to their own personal learning needs.
James will continue to fight to keep New Hampshire a free and sovereign state by fighting intrusions and mandates from the federal government, especially when unfunded. The federal government is, by design, limited in its power. Therefore, states must never resign their sovereignty. States Rights are paramount to retaining liberty. James will discourage accepting any federal funding that comes with strings attached, and will not give in to threats from federal entities that require us to give up liberty to receive funds.
James is a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR), working to show veterans and their families the unwavering respect they have earned. James believes the families of fallen heroes who have sacrificed so much for America should be able to attend funeral services and mourn without the disruption of unpatriotic protestors.
In 2016 James founded the NH Veteran Sportsman Foundation, providing free hunting and fishing licenses. Since that time, his charity has assisted over 200 NH veterans who demonstrated a need.
